Flu and winter comes together but there are ways to prevent and save you from being a victim of cold and flu. The most important and easiest way is to make your immune system strong to fight the diseases, which can be done through eating better foods.

- Ginger is part of almost each Pakistani recipe but during winter you should increase its intake through pickled ginger or ginger tea. The reason is simple, ginger contains component such as galanolactone which works as anti-nausea.
- Citrus fruits are a rich source of Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant. It is beneficial for health all around the year but during winter you need them more so that they may strengthen your immune system.
- Green Tea contains high level of polyphenols and catechins which are most powerful antioxidants and are known for fighting viruses and increasing you ability to stay healthy even during winter.
- Chicken Soup should also be in your list whether you want to prevent flu or want to decrease its symptoms. Its rich in minerals and vitamins, has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and will make you comfortable during flu.
