Each year World Heart Day is commemorated on 29th September to raise awareness about Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) which have become the leading cause of death globally, due to smoking, obesity, diabetes & high blood pressure.
Cardiovascular diseases become an even greater threat when the world is facing an epidemic such as Coronavirus (COVID-19). The people with cardio issues are usually more vulnerable to Covid-19 and fatality rates among such patients is far greater.
This is why Tabba Heart Institute commemorated the World Heart Day with multiple activities which will continue till the end of October.
These activities are focused to educate people about the risk of heart issues, the factors which increases the risk of heart diseases and how a healthy diet and lifestyle can reduce the risk of such problems.
Tabba Heart Institute also carried this awareness campaign on social media platforms and the official Facebook page, Twitter account, Instagram, YouTube channel and website were used to engage with people and educate them.
Not only informative blogs were used to connect with users but Video messages by senior doctors of Tabba Heart were also shared. The hospital also reached to live TV programs and FM radio shows to create awareness among common people.
The World Heart Day campaign started on 25th September and will continue till 3rd week of October. The main event of this campaign was ‘Free Cardiac Screening Camp’ which was held on 27th September in Karachi city while similar camp will also be held in Hyderabad on 9th October.
This camp provided people not only with free consultation but also multiple free tests and discounted services such as Free Calcium Scoring test.
