The Traditional Spice Which Fights Cancer

From Centuries human have known that ‘Saffron’ (Zafran) is very beneficial for our health but now another great affect of saffron have been confirmed by a team of researchers in United Arab Emirates (UAE). But now it is confirmed that the traditional spice also fights cancer.

[junkie-alert style=”green”] UAE University researchers have found that saffron have cancer-fighting capabilities, it limits the growth of malignant cells, kills cells in tumours and reduces inflammation in liver cancer. [/junkie-alert]

The biologist Dr. Amr Amin said that saffron was used as medicine from many centuries, it is a memory enhancer, antioxidant, neuroprotective and reduces cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s patient.

But now Dr. Amin and his team are making saffron a medicine for fighting liver cancer. A compound found in saffron ‘CROCIN’ is found to be effective for fighting cancer. When tested on rats it stopped the cell growth, killed tumour cells and decreased the inflammation.

Then the team tested it on humans and was happy when the results were same, though it need further clinical trials before it is launched a treatment for liver cancer.
