Sindhri House is customized stitching business and a trusted name in the Balochabad village of Mirpurkhas. Run by three ladies Tehjan, Chandra & Prem Bai from the village, Tehjan, Chandra and Prem Bai, Sindhri House offers custom stitching and readymade garments along with fabric and cosmetics retail, making it a one-stop shop for women of the area.
A new and profitable line of business that Sindhri House has ventured into is recycled panaflex products sources from corporate campaigns. With increases environmental consciousness in the country, more and more businesses and companies are encouraging recycled packaging. Seeing the opportunity, Sindhri house offers customized bags and other products made from used panaflex of promotional campaigns.
The business has also set up a training center to enable women of the community to acquire similar skills and set up their own businesses. So far 30 women have been trained in tailoring and designing. Initial set-up cost for the business was PKR 30,000. Turnover for the year was PKR 700,000 while projections for 2015 are PKR 1.5 million due to the introduction of the panaflex stream.
