Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has put a ban on Shisha Cafes spread all across the province and smoking in public places, directing the government to check that the ban gets imposed fully in the province including the provincial capital.
While hearing a petition on Monday for the execution of anti-smoking law, the LHC bench headed by Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandyal, also instructed the authorities to take stern action against those who violates the law.
Answering the court during the hearing, Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin said that smoking in public places was proscribed by the local government, adding that all the places except home are the public places. “The cafes are using drugs in the name of Shisha,” the DCO informed the court.
