Lahore: Despite their tough routines and nonstop cricket throughout the year, National Cricket stars never forget to discharge their religious duties which the Muslims give the prime importance. Many Pakistani cricket stars are inclined to religious teachings and are involved in some religious groups’ practices, gatherings and sermons every now and then.
Pakistan spin maestro Saeed Ajmal is much seen in religious gatherings held by Dawat -e-Islami as he is said to be inspired by that organization as many others including Shahid Afridi, Inzamam ul Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Saeed Anwar and few others are influenced by Tableeghi Jamat.
Dawat-e-Islami is a non political religious movement, much similar to Tableeghi Jamaat, which was founded in 1981 at Babul Madina, Karachi by Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri.
It works with a motto, ‘I must strive to reform myself and people of the entire world.’
