Khairpur: A number of unidentified robbers took away lacs of rupees worth jewellery, cash and other stuff from the house of famous religious leader Maulana Abdul Qadir Memon. According to sources, Maulana Abdul Qadir went for prayers in the nearby masjid while the family was out to attend marriage ceremony when the robbery took place.
The sources say that the robbers have looted cash Rs.8 lacs 30 thousands and jewellery worth lac of rupees. When he returned home, he found everything messed up, jewellery and cash looted.
Meanwhile, the civil society and religious organizations staged a protest rally in the city against the increasing crimincal activities in the city and warned if these acts did not stop, they would held a protest outside Chief Minister house.
