Bakra Eid 2018 in all over Pakistan will be celebrated on 22nd August (Wednesday). People are worried about the rates of Qasai (Butcher) which vary from city to city. Big cities such as Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta and others have different rates.
Rates of Qasai also depends on the days of Eid ul Adha, rates of 1st day are higher than 2nd and 3rd day. Most of the people make bookings of butcher a week before Eid due to which the qasai does not become available. And those who are available, demands high rates.
Rates of qasai expected in big cities of Pakistan are as follows:
- Rs. 5,000 for small qurbani animal
- Rs. 7,000-8,000 for qurbani animal ranging between Rs. 60,000-130,000
- Rs. 10,000 for qurbani animal pricing Rs. 130,000+
- Rs. 15,000 for qurbani animals pricing Rs. 200,000+
The rates listed above may be a little bit different from the rates that your butcher will demand, as these are expected and average rates.
While, in small cities the rates will be less than that in big cities. Mostly in small cities or villages people sacrifice their animals (sheep, goat, cow & camel) on their own, they don’t book butcher for this purpose.
In qurbani days many unprofessional people start taking bookings to earn some money, these butchers are known as seasonal butchers. You should keep yourself away from such butchers as they are unprofessional, they could ruin sacrifice of your animal.
Some people also prefer collective (ijtamai) qurbani which helps them avoid such problems. Each year thousands of people avail the collective Qurbani service of Saylani Welfare Trust, Al-Khidmat and MeatOne. By availing these services they are free from the mess which is created due to the slaughter of qurbani animals.
