Usman Buzdar is the new Chief Minister of Punjab which was nominated by Imran Khan himself. But do you know who he is or why as he chosen as CM? This is a brief biography about the new Chief Minister.
Even his nomination was such a shock that Usman Buzdar himself said that I never dreamt to become the CM of Punjab. He was a low profile MPA until his nomination by Imran Khan.
Early Life:
Usman Buzdar was born on May 1969 in a political influential family of South Punjab. He was the eldest child among the 5 brothers and sisters.
His father Sardar Fateh Muhammad was the tribal head of ‘Buzdar’ which is a Baloch tribe mainly settled in Dera Ghazi Khan. His father served as a MPA for three times in 1985, 2002 and 2008.
Education:
He is a well educated politician from an area where literacy rate is very low. His early education was completed in his village in Barthi, Taunsa Sharif.
Later he completed his LLB and Masters in Political Sciences from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
Political Life:
Usman Buzdar is the son of MPA Sardar Fateh Muhammad which gave him political exposure from a very young age.
He started his political life in 2001 by becoming the District Nazim of Taunsa Sharif at that time he was affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League (Q).
Before the elections of 2013 he joined Pakistan Muslim League (N) and become a candidate for provincial assembly. His lost the elections by just few thousands vote.
In 2018 he joined Janoobi Punjab Suba Mahaz which later merged with PTI. He won the 2018 elections and was later nominated CM by Imran Khan.
Personal Life:
He is a married man with three daughters who live with him in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Why Imran Khan Chose Usman Buzdar?
Imran Khan in a video message described why he chose Usman Buzdar as the CM of Punjab. Imran Khan said that he belongs from the most backward area of Punjab and he knows the problems of people living in those areas.
‘He is the only MPA to not have electricity at his home’ added Imran Khan. Many people questioned this description as the father of Usman Buzdar was three time elected MPA while Usman also served as a nazim.
According to media reports his village has no electricity and so the house in the village is without electricity like any other house of the village but his family is settled in DG Khan where all facilities are available.
