Punjab Food Authority has taken another appreciable step which will ensure better health of common citizens. This time PFA has banned the re-use of plastic bottles.
In Pakistan plastic bottles of mineral water, cold drinks and other similar bottles are washed with hot water and reused for packing by small factories which are usually working without any permit.
It was also observed that these bottles are used to produce duplicates of famous branded cold drinks and juices which are then sold in the market causing trouble for the people and increasing the risk of diseases.
Plastic bottles contain BPA which have been linked with cancer, reusing these bottles increase the risk of BPA being leaked into the liquid which people consume. In many other countries reuse of plastic bottles is banned many years ago.
