Government of Sindh has announced holiday on Friday (23rd November) on the occasion of 8th Muharram. All government offices, educational institutors (universities, colleges and schools) will remain closed in the province. Government has also announced public holiday on 9th and 10th Muharram.
Government has made claims of fullproof security all over Pakistan but on Wednesday targeted attacks were seen in four province of Pakistan. Blasts in Rawalpindi killed 23 people and 45 other were wounded. Twin blasts in Karachi took away two people lives and 12 others were injured. Quetta ballast reulsted in killing two people, 28 were injured. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a police constable was killed and three others were inujured in the attack.
People from all over Pakistan has demanded for handing over security to the army on 9th and 10th of Muharram. It is also expected that mobile phone service will be suspended on 9th and 10th Muharram due to security concerns.
