Deputy Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal has said that the government should immediately summon a joint session of parliament and took the parliamentarians into confidence if government and army feels any real threats from America. He said that if government had implemented the joint resolution of parliament after the incident of 2nd May then Americas should not have dared to issue such statements.
This he said in an interview with a private TV channel reacting over the controversial statements issued by United States.
Ahsan Iqbal said that if the government is facing any threat from US then the best solution and forum is parliament, adding that after the incident of 2nd May it was demanded in a joint resolution of parliament that the relations with US should be made transparent and these should be reviewed, adding that the relations with the US should be checked if there is any compromise with Pakistani interest.
He said after four days, four people including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, General Kayani and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton laid foundation of relations between Pakistan and US, adding that the parliament and Pakistani nation did not know about these facts.
He said when the government by bypassing the parliament and nation then it would face challenges, adding that the military and government feeling any threat from US the government should take the parliament into confidence and present the threats before them.
He said that if anybody is thinking of casting an evil eye on Pakistan, then the whole nation would jointly face these forces, adding that all parties’ conference would be not so much effective forum as compare with the parliament because parliament is responsible to ensure national security.
He said that it is our responsibility to ensure that nobody use Pakistani soil for their interest, adding that if anybody would use Pakistani soil then we would not say that India and Pakistan are interfering in Pakistan.
He said that with the help of a strong diplomacy we should have need to face all the challenges at international level, adding that there was not foreign minister present for many month, adding that due to the lack of Pakistani government’s corruption and mismanagement the international community is not willing to provide assistance for the flood-affecters.
He said that good governance is the only solution of all issues of the country, adding that it is the bad luck of the Pakistani masses that present rulers came after striking a deal of NRO with the help of US and Britain, adding that Pervez Musharraf and other responsible people should ask pardon from the masses over the deal because the present rulers have taken the country at the brink of destruction.
