Fraud activities in Pakistan have taken grip of the society. Technology has contributed much to fooling the masses. In developed countries where advancement in technology takes place and the innovations are used to cater the materialistic needs of the people, in the developing nations, the present much contradictory picture.
Unfortunately most of the Pakistani people, being deprived of the desirably needs and wants fall for captivating offers that promise good return for minimal and sometimes major exchange.
Several websites have also taken this as a business. It had been reported in the past that a website, bearing name ‘Faster Paid’ had registered much of the people. Users of the website had deposited good amounts in dollars. The website demanded the applicants to fill a form and deposit the US dollars.
After it, the account would be created. Through the account, the users had to click several advertisements that made only few cents. After spending considerable time over the work, when some people tried to transfer their amounts held by the website to their bank accounts, the fraud case appeared.
It is not a single case only. There are several cases where people are fooled through fake account, calls, text messages and mails. The need of the hour is to identifying the black sheep in our society.
Technology is meant for good usage, not to cause harm to those who look for ‘opportunities’ behind the fraud plans.
