Only Ten Teams Will Play In Cricket World Cup 2015. Is It Strange?

Its may be last chance for fresh Cricket teams to show their strength In ICC cricket world cup because they will not get chance in next cricket world cup. ICC decided to reduce numbers of countries in ODI cricket world cup. They already reduced it to 14 countries but next time only ten full members will play in Cricket World cup 2015. Which means some countries that have meritoriousness, can’t play next world cup.

Teams like Ireland and semi finalist of 2003 world cup Kenya will not part of 2015 cricket world cup. This decision has taken as very bad for cricket future. Now these teams have chance in this world cup to prove that they are capable to part of next world cup. Kenya Is in Group A while Ireland is in Group B, if they will able to play their best game then ICC may consider his decision which is really strange.

Why This Decision Chosen By ICC?

One of the main reasons to avoid extra team is may be, to avoid upsets in this mega event. These Upset in mega event effect on viewership of event. Like in last world cup 2007 two major teams were out in group matches due to upsets. Bangladesh beat India & Ireland smash Pakistan Batting line.  After elimination of to major member teams, suddenly viewership & commercial interest was decreased. Now ICC doesn’t want to take risk & want competitive games.

Is It Valid Solution?

May be NO.  We are saying this because in 2007 world cup Pakistan & India were eliminated not only due to upsets but also due to improper group & abnormal Super 8 stage structure. Pakistan’s former legend Cricketer Imran Khan already mentioned super six & super eight fault. Thought ICC decision is very shocking, this should be Go back over. Teams must be increase in World cup but structures of group & stages need to improve. Please give your opinions about this decision.
