Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the men’s Team of the Tournament for the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh, with India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its captain. According to the news, Men’s tewnty20 World team comprises of four players from India, 2 players from West Indies and Sri Lanka and 1 player from Australia and Holland.
However, the team did not add any Pakistani player, opener Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin are the other two Indian players who feature in the team that was announced by the ICC. As the selection standards for the Team of the Tournament are the performances of players during the ICC World Twenty20 2014.
Recently Sri Lanka has won the series of World Cup twenty20 2014, with a comfortable six-wicket victory over 2007 champions India on Sunday. Malinga has earned a place in the International Cricket Council (ICC) team of the tournament. Two Indians spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and batsman Cheteshwar Pujara have made the shortlist for Test Cricketer of the Year. Other players to have made the shortlist for the biggest prize in the award ceremony are Hashim Amla, James Anderson, Michael Clarke, Alastair Cook and Kumar Sangakkara.
