Karachi: Obaidullah Baig was one of the most fine, well-informed and an eminent scholar and media expert of Pakistan. He belonged to a well respected family, who with him migrated from Rampur, India and inhabited in this largest city of Pakistan.
He was a renowned face of Pakistan Television where he conducted an educational quiz program ‘Kasauti’ in 70s alongwith other popular geniuses of the country Iftikhar Arif and later with Ghazi Salahuddin in 90s era.
He married to Salma Baig who was also a prominent face on Pakistan Television for her interest in educational sector and famous for program hosting skills.
Obaidullah Baig had three daughters Maryam Baig the eldest daughter is a visual artist and also a theatre actor, second daughter Fatima Adarsh is a wife of TV Actor Adarsh Ayaz and works in a private news channel as a news caster while the youngest daughter Amina Baig is an artist and also worked for The News International.
On his everlasting contributions to Pakistani media and Urdu Literature Obaidullah was awarded a ‘Pride of Performance in August 14, 2008. On 22nd June, Obaidullah Baig left this mortal world and died a natural death.
