NADRA and Pakistan Post Collaborate to Enhance Citizen Services in Karachi

In a significant development, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is set to expand its services in Karachi through a collaboration with Pakistan Post.

This strategic partnership aims to improve service efficiency and address the long queues of citizens outside NADRA offices.

Expanding NADRA Services with Pakistan Post

Long queues and accessibility issues have been persistent challenges for NADRA. In response to these challenges, NADRA has partnered with Pakistan Post to offer services in more locations, including Saddar and Bolton Market post offices.

Service Offerings by Pakistan Post

Under this collaboration, Pakistan Post offers various services, including the renewal of national identity cards and changes of address and marital status.

These services are now accessible at seven post offices across Karachi, providing citizens with more convenient options to access NADRA services.

The Pakistan Post has offered three additional locations to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Karachi to expand the number of service centers.

Citizen Uptake and Response

The collaboration has seen substantial citizen participation, with more than 1,250 individuals availing these services in just one month. This response underscores the significance of expanding service centers to better cater to the needs of the public.

Potential for Further Expansion

Pakistan Post and NADRA are discussing possibly setting up additional service counters at seven main post offices throughout the city. This expansion could significantly enhance the accessibility and availability of essential services for Karachi’s residents.

Dedicated Service Hours

To ensure citizens have easy access to NADRA services, dedicated staff is available at all seven post offices in Karachi from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This extended service time provides flexibility to individuals who may have busy schedules.

NOTE:

You can renew your NIC at the post office for one year after they expire. Post offices do not offer biometric services for blood relatives, and you will need to have NIC forms attested by a Grade 16 officer. Furthermore, it’s essential to know that Family Registration Certificates (FRC) and Form B services are not provided at post offices.

The collaboration between NADRA and Pakistan Post represents a commendable effort to address the service challenges citizens face in Karachi.
