Karachi: From the past one decade, a trend of including music in Hamds and Naats has been set by the Naat Khuwans and singers cum Naat Khuwans. We all are aware of the fact that music and musical instruments like guitars, violins, trumpets and many other are prohibited in Islam except of the few instruments like duff which is marginally acceptable in view of few scholars but still the differences remains in the use of duff also in Naats and Hamds.
But, nowadays the trend of using music in Naats and Hamds has been increased as we see in the Naats and Hamds sung by Amir Liaquat Hussain, Sami Yousuf and few others.
However, since few scholars like the deviant Ghamidi has tried to legalize the music, many more such Naats and Hamds have began to produce. This was predicted by Propher S.A.W as hadith says, `There will be people of my Ummah who will seek to make lawful; fornication, wine-drinking and the use of ma`aazif (musical instruments). ` [Bukhari]
It is worth mentioning here that there are certain qawalis available today which depict Islam but have Indian type film themes, these are prohibited to be listen to, as they listeners concentration is directed more towards the song, rather than the Islamic words.
Any music that drives you away from Islamic ideology, instructions and weakens your Iman is forbidden.
