In a seminar Dr. Zainul Hasnain revealed that in Pakistan 34% women & 27% men are fat. The seminar was organized by Pharmacy Graduates Association of Pakistan & Imam Zainul Abidin (IZA) Hospital commemorating World Anti Obesity Day to create awareness about obesity (Motapa).
Dr. Zainul said that those who want to avoid obesity should change their diet because the main cause of increasing weight is unhealthy diet. He also criticized the habit of smoking which causes severe health issues.
Secretary Pharmacy Council Sindh Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Siddiqui said that excess fat causes heart issues, diabetes and joint problems. Increased blood pressure, stomach related problems and liver related issues.

Dr Muhammad Tanveer said that fast food, processed food, soft drink/cold drinks and bakery items with high content of sugar also increase weight. These food items should be avoided to live a healthy life.
Each year 26th November World Anti-Obesity day is observed to create awareness regarding obesity and the health related issues with increasing weight.
