Defense Minister Khawaja Asif denounced the news of immediate execution of Indian spy Kulbushan Jadhav saying that under the law he has the right to appeal within 60 days in the army’s court of appeal. Even then he can submit mercy pleas to the army chief and president.
Kulbushan Jadhav was an Indian Navy Officer who was arrested near Iranian Border. His trial continued for more than 3 months for spying as an agent of RAW, sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan to destabilize the country.
Khawaja Asif was talking in the senate where he rejected Indian propaganda saying that the due process is being followed and the law is being followed.
He said that the armed forces, the government and the people are ready to defend their motherland against any India aggression. These remarks came after Indian Ministers threatened to take action if Kulbushan Jadhav is executed.
