Karachi: Pakistan’s Karate champion Saadi Abbas is all set to compete in the South Asian Championship in New Delhi, India on 23rd June, after his energizing win at the US Open Championship in April. Saadi is excited to represent his country in the championship and his successive victories have boosted up his morale. His achievements are not be ignored as he was the first south Asian to win the Asian Championship in 2011 and this was not the end of his winning spree. Saadi is bust training himself in Islamabad at the national camp.
Saadi Abbas is also a proud winner of the Commonwealth Karate Championship in 2010 and 2013. Saadi said that he was in Islamabad to train himself in the break and also help his fellow players in the camp. He wants to represent his country and bring Pakistan’s name on the map in the karate tournament. Abbas lives in Dubai where he competes for the Al-Ahili Sports Club. He is a top athlete at his game and he will be competing in the 67-kg category.
The Secretary of the Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) Shamim Hashmi also said that Saadi was their strongest players and he was quiet hopeful that Saadi will win a gold medal. Shamim said that the team is expected to leave for India on June 19 after their visas have been granted.
