Finance Minister Ishaq Dar again failed to appear in front of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after which bailable arrest warrants were issued against the minister.
Ishaq Dar’s counsel appealed for exempting the minister from appearing in the courts but Judge Muhammad Bashir rejected the application & issued arrest warrants.
His counsel Khawaja Haris requested for exemption on the ground that he has become ill and was shifted to London for medical check-up. But it was rejected by the courts as delaying tactics asking him to appear on 2nd November.
Ishaq Dar is facing corruption charges after he failed to provide evidence for increase in his wealth in the last few years. NAB also issued freezing orders for the 30 bank accounts & assets of the minister.
Finance Minister is not the only one from the ruling family facing corruption charges, after Panama Papers the Prime Minister was also disqualified and now the ex-PM Nawaz Sharif, his daughter, sons & son-in-law all are facing accountability courts.
