Lahore: The media spokesperson for Jamat ud Dawah, Yahya Mujahid, described the immature reaction of Indian parliamentarians and media upon the meeting of Mr. Vaidik and Prof. Hafiz Saeed as an example of narrow – mindedness. He added that the ‘secularism’ of India has been exposed in front of the whole world. Prof. Hafiz Saeed openheartedly meets with everyone, regardless of nationality, faith and religion. Dr. Ved Pratap Vaidik himself contacted JuD for meeting Prof. Hafiz Saeed, and Prof. Hafiz Saeed has been meeting with journalists from all over the world since a long time.
Yahya Mujahid explained that he was present during the meeting and Mr. Vaidik was honorably treated as a guest, as directed by the Islamic principles. The topics discussed in the meeting were Islamic teachings, Pak-India relations, and the Modi – led government. Upon being asked about Mumbai attacks, Prof. Hafiz Saeed said that he has repeatedly stated that JuD is not at all involved in those attacks. The Lahore High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan have rejected the dossier provided by India.
Therefore India should respect and consider the decisions of Pakistani courts. Dr. Vaidik also asked whether JuD would protest the arrival of Narendra Modi to Pakistan. Prof. Hafiz Saeed answered that JuD does not participate in such ‘protests and politics’. However, JuD would definitely put forward its point of view. Prof. Hafiz Saeed had presented a very straightforward and clear viewpoint in the meeting, but Dr. Vaidik gave his own angle of the meeting on his arrival at India. Prof. Hafiz Saeed further said that Indian politicians and media took an extremely unreasonable stance on the meeting. In fact, this attitude reveals the true colors of Indian ‘secularism’. Indian media does not pay regard to morals and ethics and secularism hold no value to them
