In the holy month of Ramazan many people use cold drink for iftar but do you know how dangerous cold drinks are for our kidneys?
Dr. Adeeb Rizvi, the head of Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) said that people should prefer fresh juices rather than fizzy drinks because they can cause severe problems.
He further said that these drinks can cause gastroenteritis, dehydration, diarrhea, renal problems and even cancer.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to break his fasting with water and dates and it is the Sunnah which we should follow. It is also the best healthy option because dates are rich in carbohydrates, fiber, potassium & magnesium.
Dr. Shahid from Shifa International Hospital also suggested the same by saying the Sunnah of doing iftar is the best healthy option.
Famous scholar Mufti Tariq Masood also suggested that people should avoid soft drinks which can damage kidneys.
