
Recently, Saudia Arabia has lifted most of the Covid restrictions which will lead to the possibility of performance of Hajj for Pakistani citizens in 2022.
Travel experts are in view that lifting of covid restrictions including social distancing in public spaces and quarantine for vaccinated people coming to the country, could facilitate in welcoming the Muslim pilgrims for Hajj from all over the world.
“The decision includes suspending social distancing measures in all open and closed places including mosques”, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) referred an interior ministry source.
The only restriction will be wearing of masks in closed public spaces to ensure safety, according to the decision which will be effective from now on.
International vaccinated travellers coming to holy places; Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Kingdom, will no longer require to provide PCR with negative test results or rapid test before arrival or they no more need to quarantine, SPA said.
The Hajj pilgrimage was disrupted due to Covid pandemic which is the key source of financial earning of around $12 billion per annum of the Kingdom.
Every year Saudi rulers are hosting these holy activities for their prestige and boosting their political legitimacy with the custodianship of the holy places.
Due to pandemic outbreak, the last two years were crucial for Saudi government authorities as they had to downsize the pilgrims to 60,0000 people who were fully vaccinated citizens and residents of the Kingdom in 2021.
