The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in collaboration with the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), has announced the establishment of the city’s first-ever weekly organic market in Sector F-7/3. The initiative aims to provide a dedicated platform for sellers of organic products such as fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and olives.
The market will be managed by the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA), which is responsible for inviting applications from interested participants. According to officials, the objective is to promote healthy eating habits and ensure the availability of organically grown produce to residents of the federal capital.
Applications have been opened for sellers who wish to take part in the weekly market. The DMA has fixed 12th September 2025 as the last date for submission. Eligible products include fresh fruits, vegetables, fruit produce, honey, olives, and other organic items.
Officials stated that the first-ever organic market will create opportunities for local growers and small-scale businesses to connect directly with consumers. By reducing the role of middlemen, the initiative is expected to strengthen community-level trade while ensuring fair prices for both producers and buyers.
