Naegleria is a rare and dangerous infection which is caused by an amoeba which causes brain inflammation and damages the brain tissues. It is normally known as brain eating amoeba which travels from nose to the brain.
The person affected and infected by Naegleria starts experiencing the symptoms with 2-3 days and within 7 days the patient dies from the damage to brain making it one of the most rare and fatal amoeba.
Symptoms of Naegleria:
The symptoms of Naegleria usually appear within 2 days of infection which includes:
- Severe Headache
- Fever
- Loss of Balance
- Nausea & Vomiting
- Change in smell or taste
The Naegleria fowleri amoeba is found in fresh water and usually infects people in swimming pool. Though millions of people are exposed to it only few of amoeba are able to travel from the nose to the brain of the victim.
