Arrest warrants for former president gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz have been issued in the Akbar Bugti murder case.
The arrest warrants were issued by the court of Judicial Magistrate Faisal Hameed on the request of the crime branch investigating the case.
According to a private TV channel the warrants are bailable and the crime branch would try to get non-bailable arrest warrants of Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz.
The arrest warrants has been received by the crime branch; meanwhile the provincial government has sent a letter to the federal government for brining back Musharraf and Sahukat Aziz.
Prior to this the same court had issued the arrest warrant for former Home Minister Balochistan Shoaib Ahmed Nosherwani.
Bugti’s elder son went to the Balochistan High Court in 2009, seeking to register a murder case against Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz, Jam Muhammad Yousuf, Awais Ahmed Gahni, Aftab Sherpao and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani.
On the other hand the two member bench of the Balochistan High Court headed by Chief Justice Qazi Muhammad Faiz Essa is hearing the petition filed by Nawab Jamil Akbar Bugti against the killing of his father.
It is worth mentioning here that Musharraf was president and Aziz prime minister when Baloch chieftain Nawab Akbar Bugti, died in a security forces operation on 26th August 2006.
