Pensioners Of Pakistan Railways Protest Over On Non-payment Pension In Faisalabad

Pensioners staged sit-in protest against nonpayment of pension here on Thursday. An elderly pensioner namely Ashraf had lost consciousness during protest; meanwhile rescue 1122 officials gave medical treatment and shifted him in the hospital for treatment.

According to the details, the bank staff told the pensioners that 0.4 million rupees only had been given to bank by railway administration which were finished till 12 pm and directed the pensioners to come on next Monday.

On this the railway pensioners staged sit-in protest and blocked Jail road fro traffic; meanwhile protesting an elderly pensioner namely Ashraf had lost consciousness during protest.

Pensioners said that bank staff and guards also misbehaved with them, adding that our three to five month pensions were not paid till yet, they have been sitting outside the bank from 07 am but we were informed at 12 pm that funds were finished, pensioners added.

Retired pensioners demanded immediately payment of pensions by the government of Pakistan.
