Army Supports Political Solutions in Balochistan

Rawalpindi: The Chief of Army Staff is General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said that Army will support the political and constitutional solutions to the Balochistan Issue
on Wednesday. The General informed media about the policy of army when he was leaving for his official trip to Russia, he further added that Pakistan Army will support all political and democratic steps taken by the government in the favour of the state.

The statement of the Army Chief is quite similar to the words of former Balochistan Chief Minister and President of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Akhtar Mengal who said these words on the Supreme Court in his three days visit to the country after a self-imposed exile of three years.

The Supreme Court has been hearing a case related to the law and order situation of the respective Province. Balochistan is packed with disturbed conditions such as target killings, kidnappings for ransom and enforced disappearances. Such conditions must be overcome by means of dialogues and political strategies.
