Abida, a student of MA English from Faisalabad was abducted, raped, killed and then dumped in a canal. This tragic incident has once again ignited the anger of common people after Zainab.
Abida Ahmad was a student of MA English in Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF). On 25th March she was abducted from the bus stop where she was waiting for transport to reach her home.

When she didn’t reach home after hours her father visited Gulberg Police Station to file a kidnapping case but according to media reports SHO Basharat Ali rejected to file a kidnapping case. After CPO Athar interfered the case was filed.
Zainab was raped & she lost her life to make the State wake up, but it kept sleeping. It seems that just like Zainab case police failed to act timely, which resulted in the recovery of the dead body after 4 days of being missing. The dead body of Abida was recovered from a canal in Dijkot area.
According to initial postmorterm report it was revealed that she was tortured and raped. People are once again calling for justice through social media sites such as Twitter & Facebook.

The video of the abduction at bus stop was also revealed by a news channel in which it can be seen that she was abducted by 4 men using their car.

People are questioning why Punjab Police, provincial & federal government failed to locate Abida in the first 4 days?
Questions are also negligence of different departments, students of GCU also called for a protest & outside the university today.
