International media usually portrays only negativity about Pakistan but there are many Pakistanis who worked hard to change that narrative. So we decided to pay tribute to these top 10 Pakistanis who us proud.
Here are top 10 Pakistanis who made us proud in 2017, the list includes students, doctors, professors and social activists:
1) Muhammad Rayyan Siddiqui:
This 13 year old young lad became the youngest Google certified Android Developer in the world. At young age he proved that Pakistanis youngsters can not only compete with young students from developed countries but can easily beat them.
2) Muhammad Shaheer Niazi:
17 year old student from Lahore came into prominence after his research on electric honeycombs. He was the first to record the movement of ions on the surface of oil forming a honeycomb.
3) Asad Raza:
Asad Raza won two internationals awards in 2017, first he won in ‘Stanford Centre on Longevity Design Challenge 2017 and later in that year he won the third prize in ‘Global Student Entrepreneur Award 2017’.
4) Noman Shaheer:
He is a graduate from IoBM and is currently doing his PhD from Darla Moore School of Business. He was awarded the ‘Most Promising Scholar Award’ by renowned Academy of International Business (AIB)?
In the same year he was awarded ‘CEO World Awards 2017’ making him among the top 20 CEOs from around the world.
5) Muhammad Dawood, Ushma Farooq, Hassan Raza, Hassnain Qasim, Ayesha Khan & Babar Nawaz:
This group of students from Pakistan won the iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) which was held in Boston’s Hynes Convention Centre.
6) Professor Shahida Hasnain:
Shahida Hasnain was awarded with Prestigious 2017 Carlos J Finlay UNESCO Prize for her contribution and research in Microbiology.
7) Dr. Adil Haider:
He is a Pakistani migrant doctor working in USA who was awarded ‘Ellis Island Medal of Honour’. It is the highest civilian award which is offered to immigrants.
8) Dr. Saad Gulzar:
Saad Gulzar was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Stanford University, which is ranked among top 3 in the world. He is an alumnus of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
9) Haroon Yasin, Mahnoor Syed & Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi:
These young students were awarded and selected among the most exceptional people from common wealth countries aged between 18-29.
10) Dr. Ruth Pfau:
She is known as Pakistan’s Mother Teresa who came and settled in Pakistan in 1960 and dedicated her life for the treatment of Leprosy patients. It was due to her contribution that Pakistan became first country in Asia to control the disease.
