Pakistanis have seen such pictures in Bollywood movies but now they can enjoy their weekend at ‘China Port’ a new tourist location which is becoming famous among the people of Karachi.
The attraction of China port is the ‘Tetrapod Rocks’ and the blue sea which makes it a perfect place to spend few hours on weekend.
What can be better then spending few hours in the wilderness of the sea?
People are visiting this place and posting images and selfies which is making this spot more famous.
Another reason why people are visiting this spot in large number is that it’s an open place which anyone can visit without any entry fees or charges.

The reason behind calling this place china port is that it was made by collaboration of Hong Kong based Hutchison Ports and Karachi Port Trust (KPT).
The purpose of this pavement of tetra-pad rocks is to create a water break for the protection of the port from harsh sea waves of Arabia sea. This project was completed in May after which citizens started visiting the place.
Location of China Port:
The location of the place is not far from Dolmen Mall Clifton, from which it takes just few minutes to reach this place.
Thousands of people are visiting this place to experience the unique view, during weekend this spot is fully packed with families and youth.
So if you are planning to visit this place then make sure avoid the rush hours. Visit it during week days during early morning to enjoy the beautiful view.
Pollution in China Port:
It has been only few weeks that China Port has been open for public and it has already become a mess. Gurka spits, empty bottles and wrappers are ruining the amazing spot.
Though it can be said that government authorities failed to fulfill their role by not providing dustbins near the location but Karachites also failed to fulfill their role by throwing waste in open sea.
Purpose of Tetrapod Rocks?
Tetrapods rocks are used all parts of the world to stop sea erosion. Japan became the first country to use it against the threat of tsunami.
Though it can not stop the sea waves during tsunami but it can weaken the waves and give people few extra seconds before the giant wave reaches them.
