Karachi: Inspite of the ban on demonstrations and protests by the Sindh government for three days in the metropolis, several Sunni rallies are being carried out in the city that were scheduld hours before ban was imposed on the processions against the Anti Islam film and blasphemous cartoons.
According to the sources, the decision has been taken in order to prevent and control the deteriorating law and order situation in the city as if all the security personnel are being deployed to secure the US Consulate, offering no security to public and properites of a common man.
While commenting on this the Minister for Information Sindh Sharjeel Memon said the political and religious parties must help the government to improve the violent situation of the city.
The government has imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for three days and the officials earlier said those violating rules will be dealt firmly but still the rallies are being carried out.
The religious parties are vowed to take out the scheduled procession today from Numaish to Tibet Centre.
Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman is heading one of the rallies today and will be addressing the participants at Tibet Centre.
The planned rally has the support of Jamaat Ahl-i-Sunnat Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan-Noorani, Sunni Tehrik and nine other parties along with a number of clerics. However, they have stressed upon the need of carrying out peaceful demonstrations.
