Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that he has forgotten English after a separation from his wife. While addressing at the occasion, Imran Khan came on the stage, someone in the audience sent a chit which had called to speak in Urdu at the ceremony instead of English.
The PTI chairman smiled and told the audience that I had received a chit from someone in the audience to spoke in Urdu instead of English. Imran Khan told the audience that I have already forgotten English after the separation from my wife, now I speak Urdu mostly and the participants also put tremendous laughter.
On 16 May 1995, Khan married Jemima Goldsmith, A month later, on 21 June; they were married again in a civil ceremony at the Richmond registry office in England. A few months before her wedding, she converted to Islam and the couple has two sons, Sulaiman Isa and Kasim.
Rumours circulated that the couple’s marriage was in crisis, Jemima denied that publishing an advertisement in Pakistani newspapers. On 22 June 2004, it was announced that the Khans had divorced, ending the nine-year marriage because it was “difficult for Jemima to adapt to life in Pakistan”.
Jemima Marcelle Khan was born on 30 January 1974; she is an English journalist, heiress, and campaigner. She is an associate editor of New Statesman and European editor-at-large for Vanity Fair. She is the eldest child of Lady Annabel Vane-Tempest-Stewart and financier Sir James Goldsmith. She learned to speak Urdu and also wore traditional Pakistani clothes. Diana, Princess of Wales, was a close friend of Jemima.
