Karachi: Pakistan U-19 outclasses Indian under 19 team yesterday by one run (Sunday, June 24) in Asian Cricket Council Under-19s Asia Cup being played at a neutral venue of Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
In a first group A match, won the toss and chose to field giving Pakistan a better chance to set a target. Pakistan batting first scored staggering 286 runs. Sami Aslam’s outstanding innings of 121 off 149 helped the team to reach an impressive total with a helpful hand of Imam-ul-Haq who scored 88 off just 97 deliveries.
In reply, Indians started their innings with ups and downs, following with a tremendous innings by VH Zol who smashed brilliant 109 off 119 balls, almost leading the team to an unexpected win.
With a win, Pakistan under 19 grabs three important points in group A. Along with India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are also participating in the tournament.
