Pakistan former captain Shahid Afridi has regained his form in 50 over match. Recently for the second consecutive time he played a match winning inning in the 50-over practice match played between Pakistan Green and Pakistan Blues at the Gaddafi Stadium. Pakistan ODI captain Misbah-ul-haq said: “If his form remains like this and we need him, we will definitely consider him,” Afridi scored back to back half-centuries in practice matches.
Shahid Afridi who was captaining Pakistan Blues in absense of Shoaib Malik who was unavailable for this match due to personal reasons scored 90 runs from 64 balls which include 11 four and two shots for maximum. In the first practice match played at the same venue Afridi scored 52 runs and also bagged one wicket.
Pakistan Green won the toss and elected to field first, Pakistan Blues scored 309 runs and were all out in 49th over. Azhar Ali top scored with 100, whereas openers Imran Farhat and Ahmed Shahzad scored 34 (6x4s) and 21 (3x4s) respectively. Saeed Ajmal was pick of the bowler for Green team as he took four wickets for 68 runs.
In reply Green team scored 269/9 in 50 overs. Mohammad Hafeez scored 114 runs including 13 fours and one six. Wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal also chipped in with 56 runs of 44 balls and Wahab Riaz scored 33 runs which also feature three fours and two sixes. Lanky fast bowler Mohammad Irfan took four wickets for 46 runs.
Pakistan blues won both the practice matches, now both team will play Twenty20 match on December 20.
