A press release of Hizb ut Tahreer Pakistan claims that Hizb ut Tahreer’s ban case in Pakistan has been stagnant for too long and ant it has been unheard since 2003, although the anti terrorist court in Karachi had declared this ban as defective.
Till yet the scheduled ban case on the day of hearing extended for an undefined period without hearing and this had happened multiple times.
On Tuesday 26 January 2012, again the case was planned to be reopened but to no forward procession. Hizb ut Tahreer emphasizes that the ban is unjustified and the government is only pushing the case and delaying it so that the ban could be sustained. Hizb ut Tahreer exclaims that the government is afraid of the systems and proposed intellectual ideas of Hizb ut Tahreer and thus cannot win the battle of hearts and minds, that’s why manipulating the group with other non ethical means is the only option left.
Similarly the mystery in the abducted members of Hizb ut Tahreer is still an enigmatic subject, although many members have been recovered but a senior member Dr Abdul Qayyum has been missing for six months. Surprisingly The Chief Justice of Islamabad High court did not come up for Abdul Qayyum’s abduction case and proceedings adjourned indefinitely. This has been a very serious condition of justice in Pakistan where people can be abducted with no proper charges made against them. Dr. Abdul Qayyum is a dental surgeon and more about him can be obtained from this news story: Dental surgeon picked up by agencies
