Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf facebook pages has been hacked. The cyber attack on the different facebook page associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was made on 3rd February, 2012 (Friday) at 3:00 PM PST. Thousands of Tehreek-e-Insaf facebook supporters could not access the fan pages after repeated attempts.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has condemned this act cyber crime and has urged social media team of PTI to show restraint and not be deterred by the irresponsible and criminal tactics of PTI opponents. He urged the team to report the incident to the cyber crime division so that future cyber attacks can be averted.
According to the President of PTI’s student wing Karachi, Arsalan Ghumman official Facebook pages of PTI leader Imran Khan, the student wing Insaf Students Federation, Dr Arif Alvi and several other pages were hacked and hidden from the public’s eye. Web manager of the social media team at PTI, Imran Ghazali has said that we are the most active political party on facebook. Our webpage, ‘We want Imran Khan to be the next Prime Minister’ is liked by 0.45 million Facebook users, while the official Imran Khan page is liked by 0.35 million users.” He said that the hackers had first broken into his Gmail account to log on to the Facebook pages. Now Gmail account of Imran Ghazali has been recovered.
On different social websites PTI supporters are blaming Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N). A PTI supporter living in Islamabad has said that professionals were hired to hack PTI pages and added that it is too early to say that who is behind this hacking.
A local leader of PML-N in Lahore said that it was bad too see this hacking and we condemn this act. He added that PML-N is not behind this hacking nor they have even think about this type acts.
