An important meeting of leaders of Difa-e Pakistan Council (DPC) was held Wednesday at Idara-e Noor-e Haq, which was presided over by Jamaat-e Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti. Jamiat Ulema Islam (Sami Ul Haque) (JUI-S) leader Qari Abdul Mannan Anwar, Hafiz Ahmed Ali, Jamat Ud Dawa leader Naveed Qamar, Prof. Mehmood Ul Hassan, Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (JUP) leader Muhammad Mustaqeem Noorani, Muhammad Aslam Abbasi, Ehl-e Sunnat Wal Jamaat leader Taj Muhammad Hanafi, Amir Chaudhary, JUI (Ideological) leader Abdul Kareem Madani, Muslim League Sher-e Bengal leader Muhammad Alauddin, Mamoon Ur Rasheed, Awami Muslim League leader Mehfooz Yar Khan, Zahid Waqar, JI leader Birjees Ahmed, JI Karachi General Secretary Naseem Siddiqui, Nasarullah Shaji and other eminent leaders attended.
The meeting approved formation of various committees regarding arrangements and management of the DPC public gathering scheduled on 12 Feb at Bagh-e Quaid-e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The committees thus formed included security committee, discipline committee, traders committee, lawyers committee, public contact committee, traffic management committee and others. The meeting had unanimously agreed to gear up campaign for contacting the people in the city in order to motivate them to show their presence in the DPC gathering for the sake of the defence of Pakistan. The meeting approved a scheme to create public awareness through distribution of hand bills after Friday prayer congregations and mobile publicity. The meeting also agreed to contact people of different forums such as businessmen, traders, lawyers, students, teachers, academicians and religious scholars for joining the DPC struggle. The meeting reiterated a firm resolve to spare no stone unturned in the defence of the country and a message would be conveyed to the rulers that anti-Pakistan plans from any corner would be resisted with full force.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahenti said that people of Pakistan have also awakened but unfortunately the rulers have not yet awakened from deep slumber and are still unaware of the wave of forthcoming change in the country. The country was created on the basis of Islam but the rulers had tactfully evaded the implementation of Islamic Shariah. He said that DPC leaders have united to save and transform the country into a welfare Islamic state.
