Lahore: Assistant Professor Dr Amjad Riaz of University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS) on Wednesday was awarded Young Scientist Award at International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR) 2012, held in Vancouver, Canada.
The award was given to Dr Amjad Riaz for his excellent research on predicting buffalo ovarian reserves by ultra-sonography and held on competitive basis from developing countries. Through this work, Embryo Transfer Technology could be established in buffalo.
A delegation of four Pakistani veterinarians and animal scientists led by Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, UVAS participated in the meeting, Dr Amjad being a team member.
More than 900 delegates from 62 different countries participated in the Congress which is held every four years to update and share knowledge and scientific information.
