Umar Saif is one of the leading names in Pakistan IT sector. He is an entrepreneur, professor and the chairman of the Punjab IT Board (PITB). He also holds the position of Secretary of IT Punjab. Umar Saif is a highly accomplished individual having completed PhD in computer science from the University of Cmabridge and postdoc in the same field from MIT. After working for several notable names int hegobal IT industry, Umar decided to return to Pakistan and became Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University Punjab at the age of 34. He was given the position of chairman PITB and is responsible for all public sector IT projects in Punjab with an annual budget of around USD 25 million.
Umar Saif is a longtime associate professor a the computer science department of LUMS, one of Pakistan’s leading universities. Umar Saif has been a devoted applicant of IT to improve the governance of the state and to improve the standard of living of the people.
