Karachi: Train march which is to be scheduled on March 3 will prove milestone in holding transparent, fair and free elections. This was stated by Central Deputy General Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Dr Fareed Paracha during his visit to Idara-e-Noor Haq here on Wednesday. Talking to JI office bearers, Paracha said the core aim of holding train march is to compel the Election Commission to ensure transparent election in Karachi. He said the stability of the country is linked with law and order situation of Karachi adding JI will not let the people of the city on the mercy of terrorists.
Speaking on voters’ verification process, JI leader said absence of army personnel in voters’ verification process has paved the way of pre-poll rigging before elections. “Undemocratic approach was being witnessed during voters’ verification process without army personnel despite several protests launched by different political and religious parties to express their reservation over said verification of electoral rolls”, Paracha added. He further said the electoral process in the City should not be hijacked by a political party adding free and fair election should imperative to restore lasting peace in Karachi.
Earlier, JI Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mahenti briefed JI Central Deputy General Secretary Dr Fareed Paracha about arrangements being made in connection of train march.
Mahenti also brief JI Central Deputy General Secretary about steps being taken by different political and religious parties over rectification of voters’ list.
