Karachi: Death of Naib Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Prof Ghafoor was an irreparable loss for the politics and was a shining star in the political world of the country. This was stated by PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif during his visit to the residence of late JI leader Prof Ghafoor here on Tuesday. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chaudhary Nisar, Ghaus Ali Shah, Mumtaz Bhutto, Liaquat Jatoi, Mamnoon Hussain, Saleem Zia and other PML-N leaders accompanied the PML-N chief.
On the occasion, Nawaz Sharif condoled with the son of Prof Ghafoor over the sad demise of his father Prof Ghafoor and also prayed for the departed soul. JI leaders among Ameer JI Sindh Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, Naib Ameer Asadullah Bhutto, Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Secretary JI Karachi Naseem Siddiqui, Naib Ameers Raja Arif Sultan, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Secretary Information Zahid Askari, former JI lawmakers Laeeq Khan, Younus Barai, Ameer District East JI Osama Razi and others were also present on the occasion.
Nawaz Sharif paid glowing tribute to the JI great leader Prof Ghafoor and said that the role of departed JI leader in strengthening the democracy in the country and formulation of the Constitution of Pakistan could not be forgotten. “The personality of Prof Ghafoor had equal importance in all sphere in the country adding the departed JI leader had introduced the honest and sincere politics in the country”, PML-N chief added.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif stressed upon the need to contest election jointly and make united efforts to hold transparent elections in Karachi. He urged the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to pay heed towards holding transparent elections.
On the occasion, PML-N chief warned if the transparent elections would not hold in the country, particularly in the city, then the nation will not accept its results. He further said the masses have annoyed by the politics continued in Karachi adding JI and other political parties have decided to contest elections jointly.
“Target killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes are on the rise in the city adding more than 6,000 thousand people have being murdered during five year tenure of PPP-led government”, he said. Who is being carried out such criminal activities, PML-N chief questioned. PML-N chief said the PPP and MQM are befooling the people of Sindh province by conducting artificial fight (‘Nura Khushti’).
He further said such negative politics should stop immediately in the province and demanded to take notice of this. “The Karachi is being held hostage and joint efforts are needed to safe the people of the city”, Sharif added. On the occasion, PML-N leader vowed the peace will bring in Karachi and the city will once again turn in to the “City of Light” by the united efforts of all political and religious parties.
