Three days anti polio campaign begins in Pakistan

3 days Polio Campaign Islamabad: Three days polio campaign begins in the all over Pakistan more than 100,000 polio workers covers across Pakistan, despite constant militant threats to health workers and vaccination teams, they are still stepping up to eliminate the polio virus. Declining rate of polio cases in Pakistan shows the efforts of workers and contribution of locals in the campaign, last year there were only 54 cases of polio virus reported.

Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh inaugurated the anti-polio campaign with local children at the office of Anjuman-e-Hilal Ahmar. The campaign will cover over 2.1 million children, under five- year age, which will be administrated polio drops. Areas which have children with high risk are Khyber Agency, South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Bannu, Bakarkhel, Janikhel and Sintanga areas.

This going to be second anti polio campaign launched in Pakistan within 2016, which if we compare from last year campaigns performance going to be more effected, 98 percent of the target children were successfully vaccinated on the other hand only few denial were come across last year.
