Supreme Court Forms Special Bench To Resume NICL Scam Case

Islamabad: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has constituted a three-member special bench to hear National Insurance Company land purchasing scam (NICL scam) case Tomorrow (Monday). The bench comprises of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Amir Hani Muslim. The bench would resume Suo Moto case regarding violation of public procurement rules in procurement loss of billions of rupees of national exchequer caused by NICL.

Attorney General for Pakistan Molvi Anwar-ul-Haq, DG, FIA, deputy attorney general, former investigation officer Zafar Qureshi, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Waseem Sajjad advocate, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada senior ASC would appear before the court.

Meanwhile the apex court would initiate contempt proceedings against former secretary interior Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, former DG FIA Malik Muhammad Iqbal and others.

The senior counsel Dr.Babar Awan would appear on behalf of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and others while former attorney general and senior counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan would appear on behalf of former DG FIA Malik Iqbal.
