SP Suhai Aziz Talpur came into prominent after she led the operation against terrorists who attacked the Chinese Consulate. This is a brief biography to discuss the personal life of Suhai Talpur and how she started her career in Police.
Know where she was born, how she completed her studied and why she chose to become part of Sindh Police.
She was born in Bhai Khan Talpur village of Tando Muhammad Khan district of Sindh Province. Despite being a lower middle class family her father Aziz Talpur did his best to provide the best education facilities for her daughter.
Her father who was a political activist and a writer knew the importance of education, hence despite opposition from relatives continued the education of daughter.
Suhai Talpur completed her early education from a private school in Tando Muhammad Khan and then did intermediate from Bahria Foundation.
After intermediate she started B.Com from Zubaida Girls College, Hyderabad. Her family wanted her to start CA after her graduation but she had other plans.
Despite family recommendation to become a chartered accountant Suhai choose to appear in CSS exams. She said that ‘I found CA to be dull and boring’ because of which she appeared and passed CSS in 2013, it was her first attempt.
After CSS she joined the Police Department becoming the first girl from lower Sindh to join the police department.
She was appointed as the Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) in Clifton but after her acclaimed operation to defend the Consulate of China in Karachi she was promoted as Superintendent Police (SP). She also became the first woman police to be recommended for Quaid-i-Azam Police Medal.
After the operation in Clifton she was acclaimed for her performance. On social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram she was praised as ‘daughter of Pakistan’.
Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also met her after the operation against terrorists.
