A century ago a small coffin of mummy was found among the tomb of Pharaoh about which archeologists and scientists believed that it was a mummy of a bird, and some believed it contained internal organs of the mummy.
But when they opened the coffin for study and research purposes they found that it was a mummy of few weeks old fetus who died because of miscarriage.

Similar mummies were also found in other pyramids, such as King Tutankhamun’s tomb which contained two fetuses which were 25 and 37 weeks old, on other occasions mummies of children were found in Chile and Peru.
The coffin is available for public view in Fitzwilliam Museum.
