Karachi: The participation of Pakistani all rounder Shahid Afridi for Hampshire in the county cricket has gone in delay owing visa problems, sources informed.
Afridi had to leave for England immediately after Sri Lanka series but due to new Visa policy he first turned to the home soil and will now join Hampshire by Sunday, hopefully.
Team Manager Giles White stating Afridi a talented player expressed that the team much feels the absence of Afridi and no one is responsible of his delay in joining the team. He hoped that Pakistani star will join the team as soon as he gets his Visa.
It is to mention here that Afridi has already missed out two matches playing for Hampshire due to Pakistan’s recent ODI series against Sri Lanka. Pertinent to mention here that in 2011, Afridi enjoyed a successful stay with Hampshire, taking 17 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 11.17.
