Lahore: A passenger aircraft of private Pakistani company makes emergency landing after technical fault at Allama Iqbal Airport, Lahore. According to the reports, the engine of Shaheen Airline aircraft catches fire just after take-off and escaped an accident after successfully landing on the airport, on Sunday. Around 300 passengers were travelling from the flight NL-766, at 12 pm from Allama Iqbal Airport to Dubai. Children and women were also on board in that plane.
According to the officials of Civil Aviation Authority, the pilot of the plane found that one engine of the plane catches fire, while another engine was working normally. He suddenly reported the Civil Aviation Authority after which all the departments were alerted for an emergency landing on the airport. At 12:35 pm, the plane successfully landed on the airport and all the passengers were took out of the plane safely.
“We were told that some technical fault had developed in the plane and it will be fixed shortly. Around 10 hours passed and we were told the aircraft will leave in an hour or so,” a passenger told media.
The spokesperson of CAA told the media that the investigations have started on this matter and the authority will also check the airworthiness of the plane to avoid such incidents in future.
